The emWave2 Stress Relief System is designed to revitalize mind, body, spirit and emotions through its software program that promises to change the heart rhythm pattern and therefore create ‘physiological coherence’ in your body. By showing you the heart rhythm patterns and how they fluctuate on your PC screen, the emWave system promises to teach you how to increase the level of your heart rhythm coherence which will, in turn, reduce stress and increase your cognitive abilities.
All very impressive on paper – and so it should be for the price. What I wanted to know was did it work and was it worth the money? Well, first off it’s a lot easier than it sounds. This is essentially a biofeedback device that literally shows you how you are feeling at any given time and in a variety of states so that you can clearly see the effect of those emotions on your body. By watching how your pulse rate changes as you become stressed, you quickly learn how to get it down from the jagged peaks of that stressed out state to the gentle, rolling curves you see on screen that tell you when you are relaxed. With the emWave 2 you can do this on the go or at your computer which means more flexibility than earlier models.
I liked this within a few minutes of taking it out of the box and, believe me, I am not easy to please when it comes to devices that promise so much. This really did help me get into a state of relaxation that enabled me to accomplish so much more without succumbing to my own, internal stressors or those outside of me. This emWave machine encourages a positive, relaxed attitude that allowed me to achieve a ton of stuff that would normally have me tearing my hair out in typical type A fashion. And the results are consistent – a couple of weeks on and I am still in the zone, calmly going about my daily business without the racing heart and choked up feeling that had become second nature. Yes, it’s pricey but it’s worth every cent and more in terms of increased longevity, productivity and happiness for me and my family. Very effective indeed.
